Westview Cambodian International School is the great extension to secondary education by the passionate leadership team of Learning Jungle International School Cambodia (LJIS) offering educational services only from preschool to elementary program. Reports to Head of Student Affairs
This position of Deputy Head of Student Affairs covers both the elementary program at Learning Jungle International School and the secondary program at Westview Cambodian International School.
Duties
- Be able to set goals for Student Affairs department and execute the plans to achieve the set goals to support the achievement of school goals and guiding statements;
- Be able to serve as the line manager of an assigned group of Student Affairs Supervisors to support the team to perform their duty to the best of their ability, serving as role model and a leader who can build staff capacity and loyalty to the school.
- Report the team and own achievements to the head of student affairs and the school Director.
- Collaborate with other department heads in the achieve common school goals.
- Speak at or conduct public presentations, workshop or school events and activities when assigned by the head of student affairs or the school director.
- Plan student field trips and school events to enrich student experience and learning outside of classrooms
- Liaise with third parties to create partnership, improve student experiences, or exchange good practices and friendship outside of school.
- Coordinate the logistics of student activities, field trip, workshop and other school events.
- Ensure good keep record of student grades, report cards, transcripts, behavioral records or any other records in compliance with the requirements from Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and school requirements.
- Coordinate the report cards and transcript printing for students.
- Conduct parent and student satisfaction survey to evaluate the success of school programs or activities.
- Do presentation to the school management the outcomes of the survey and suggestions to improve the student and parent satisfaction.
- Meet with students and mentor SAS to resolve student complaints, enquiry and engagement.
- Meet with students and mentor students about their conduct, well-being, concern and inquiry.
- Meet with parents to discuss about student learning and well-being as well as other concerns per request
- Liaise with the Front Office department to ensure parents receive quality information about their child's learning and well-being, as well as to gather timely feedback for the enhancement of student learning, well-being, school programs, and services.
- Take active roles in committees like child protection and health and safety, coordinating with the school counselor and relevant staff to ensure student safety and support from student affairs supervisors in their daily activities.
- Conduct regular facility inspection and report safety hazard and concern to the operations department and health and safety committee for timely intervention
- Ensure safe supervision during school hours especially during break times, PE, lunches and extra school hours classes/activities
- Review school policies and procedures regularly to ensure safe and positive school environment for all learners
- Conduct staff performance review and provide reflective feedback and support staff to achieve their professional growth
- Model positive school climate and culture of thriving for excellence within the whole school.
- Develop professional development plans or training for the department.
- Attend and conduct meetings with relevant staff members and teachers
- Perform other managerial tasks per the delegation from the school director and Head of Student Affairs related to the Student Affairs Department
Requirements
- Hold Bachelor’s degree/ Master Degree of Education or TESOL, or related field;
- Minimum of 1 year experience in education field is preferred;
- Willing to advance career path with international school;
- Experience in international school is a plus;
- Experience in managing a team is a plus;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English;
- Ability to work well under tight deadlines and deliver effective result;
- Desire to learn and overcome new challenges;
- Hard working and self-motivated person, honest, reliable, loyal, responsible, and very good team work;
- Willing to work with diversified international team.
