Kroursar Yoeung Association (KrY) is a local non-governmental organization with no religious or political ties and was established in 2002 with the Ministry of Interior to promote health conditions, cognition, and development of children, strengthen childcare and parenting, improve and empower families through different development programs.
In partnership of Kimchan Foundation in Germany, KrY is currently implementing and operating the community/state pre-schools in Siem Reap, Ratanak Kiri, Tbong Khmom and Kratie Province. It will be scaled up to other remote and rural areas across the country in the future. Now we are hiring:
Senior Coach for Zone-1 which will be based at Siem Reap Office. This position will be responsible for supervising four coaches in Banteay Meanchey, Siem Reap, Steung Treng and Ratanakiri.
Senior Coach’s main responsibility is to ensure the achievement of technical upgraded objectives which is targeted as 80% of the five-year-old class graduates can recognize 80% of Khmer’s consonants (27 characters) and 70% of Khmer’s vowels (16 characters). Senior Coach position is supervised by the Project Manager and it will be responsible for the technical program by ensuring that the coaches are capable to provide quality coaching services to the teachers of HCC’s kindergartens. The position will be based at any of Zone’s offices locates in the provinces and it is required to travel to the schools monitoring and providing support to the coaches.
Duties
- Major Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly meetings with coaches under her/his supervision.
- Plan with coaches to organize technical meetings, class demonstrations, and instructional materials development with teachers.
- Plan HCC’s literacy test administration.
- Manage the expense of field travels and food for coaches
- Participate in relevant capacity-building activities such as meetings, training, workshops, and study visits…etc provided by KrY, government, and/or other stakeholders.
- Participate in monthly coaching forum with other senior coaches, and coaches PM, ECE, and M&E coordinator.
- Participate in bi-weekly meetings with project managers and other senior coaches.
- Participate in monthly project management meetings with other senior staff and managers (Project Manager, senior coaches, ECE and M&E Coordinator, Finance and Admin staff, ED).
- Engage in providing inputs on technical assessment tools and guidelines development or review with technical coordinator and project managers.
- Check and approve monthly and weekly workplans of coaches.
- Ensure that coaches strictly implement the coaching guideline.
- Conduct random classroom observation (Learning and teaching plus class administration).
- Observe the coaching activity which are carried out by coaches.
- Monitor HCC’s literacy test which is administrated by coaches.
- Build capacity of coaches under his/her supervision to ensure they have sufficient capacity to support the teachers.
- Provide feedback and recommendation to individual coaches and follow up on the improvement plan.
- Provide training and material support to help coaches achieve their improvement according to the feedback/recommendations.
- Engage in appraising the performance of coaches and teachers.
- Prepare classroom and coach’s observation reports and submit to the project manager on monthly basis.
- Consolidate teachers’ coaching reports by coaches and submit to the project manager on monthly basis.
- Consolidate HCC’s literacy reports for the project manager on regular basis.
- Produce regular technical program reports for the project manager.

- Engage in and keep good linkage to relevant technical networks at submit national levels.
- Other tasks may be requested to perform by project manager when needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field specialize in coaching or teacher training
- Experience working in the field of early childhood education, preferably in a leadership or coaching role.
- Have knowledge in coaching techniques and methodologies, such as instructional coaching, peer coaching, or reflective coaching.
- Strong leadership skills to direct and guide teachers, implement curriculum, and provide support to staff members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders, as well as the ability to provide constructive feedback and support.
- In-depth knowledge of child development principles, early learning strategies, and curriculum development for young children.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other project manager and stakeholders to achieve literacy target .
