About Library Assistant
Note: For Cambodian applications Only
This role is responsible for providing services such as circulation of resources, reference and research services to staff and students from pre-school to secondary. CCF is now seeking a library assistant to be responsible for the daily operation of the library. The librarian operates under the general guidance and direct supervision of the library supervisor. The successful candidate shows a basic capacity to assume the position after training
Report to: School Operation Officer
Key liaison: Teachers, Education Team and students
Manage: N/A
Duties
- Assist with implementing an intensive literacy program at Junior School, such as facilitating student project work and outreach to the community to borrow learning aids for students to use at home.
- Direct the daily operation of the library to ensure that library users are using all learning resources effectively.
- Support homeroom teachers with the library reading program
- Attend training about library-related activities
- Ensure the bookshelves are tidy and well-arranged and books are displayed based on student level
- Assisting teachers and students with the use of library resources and equipment
- Make the library attractive and accessible to all children, teachers, students, and staff including displays or by any means
- Prepare a monthly library report related to library officer and information services
- Plan and conduct story times, etc.
- Make a library schedule, library rules and agreement, borrow-lend service record book by grade level
- Perform cataloging of print, audio-visual, and electronic resources
- Ensure the books which borrowed by students and staff return to the library timely
- Repair damaged books so that they can be used again
- Other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
- Visibly ethical and able to demonstrate CCF values in day-to-day work;
- At least one-year experience with related field;
- A good knowledge of children’s books and literature;
- Ability to work well with children;
- Be able to use English language is an advantage;
- Knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel, internet and Email);
- Be honest and trustworthy, Patient, respectful and helpful;
- Take responsibility, flexible and committed;
- High compassion and commitment to work with community people and poor children;
- Working Days/Hours: 07:30am-12:00pm and 01:30pm-05:00pm from Monday to Saturday(full-time).
