Key responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial statements including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and international accounting standards.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Oversee the maintenance and updating of financial records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads and school leadership.
- Develop long-term financial forecasts and models for strategic planning.
- Monitor budget variances and provide regular updates to the CFO and senior management.
Financial Analysis
- C onduct financial analysis on operational efficiency, cost management, and revenue optimization.
- Develop performance metrics and dashboards for monitoring key financial indicators.
- Provide recommendations based on data analysis to improve financial outcomes.
- Assess financial risks and opportunities, and present insights to support decision-making.
Internal Controls and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard school assets and ensure
- financial accuracy.
- Liaise with external auditors and ensure the audit process runs smoothly.
Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with various departments to provide financial insights and reports.
- Present financial data and analysis to the leadership team in a clear and concise
- manner.
- Provide financial training and guidance to non-finance staff when necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Masters degree or professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, analysis, or a similar role, preferably in an educational or non-profit environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
