Duties
- Student Support and Guidance:
- Provide counseling and support to students regarding academic, social, and emotional challenges.
- Address student concerns, behavioral issues, and conflict resolution in a fair and compassionate manner.
- Serve as a point of contact for students seeking advice or assistance.
- Extracurricular Activity Coordination:
- Plan, organize, and oversee extracurricular activities, clubs, and school events to promote student engagement.
- Encourage participation in activities that support students’ interests, talents, and holistic development.
- Coordinate with teachers and activity leaders to ensure smooth execution of events and activities.
- Record Keeping and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, behavior, disciplinary actions, and academic progress.
- Prepare reports and documentation for student incidents and activities as required by school policies.
- Assist with the development of individual support plans for students needing additional support.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Serve as a liaison between students, parents, teachers, and school administration to address student needs and concerns.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to keep them informed about student progress, events, and any concerns.
- Collaborate with school counselors, teachers, and other staff to develop programs that enhance student well-being and success.
- Student Development Programs:
- Develop and implement programs that promote positive behavior, leadership skills, and personal growth among students.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness sessions on topics such as mental health, bullying prevention, and life skills.
- Support transition programs for students moving from primary to secondary school levels.
- Behavioral Management:
- Monitor student behavior and implement disciplinary actions as needed, following school policies and procedures.
- Promote a positive and respectful school culture by encouraging adherence to school rules and values.
- Work with students to develop self-discipline and conflict resolution skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Experience working with primary and/or secondary school students in a counseling or student affairs role.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of students, parents, and staff members.
- Knowledge of student support services, child development, and school regulations.
- Empathy, patience, and a passion for helping students achieve their full potential.
