Job offer: Khmer Primary Teacher

East-West International School, established in 2006, is Phnom Penh’s leader in affordable, bilingual education. East-West, which is centrally located in BKK3, is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and offers classes from Nursery to Grade 12. Students can study the Khmer National Curriculum approved by the MOEYS, the International Primary Curriculum, the International Middle Years Curriculum, as well as a full Cambridge program of IGCSE, AS, and A-level classes in Secondary. Schedule : Full Time (Monday -Friday from 7:00 am-4:00 pm)

Report to : Khmer Primary Coordinator, Primary Principal and Head of School 

Duties

• Be able to teach Khmer language in primary level from grade 1 to grade 5
• Plan for teaching students, materials and learning environment that support teaching practices.
• Undertake other duties assigned by the Head of Department (Primary) or School Principal
• Establishes an emotionally safe environment based on mutual respect, warmth, fairness and strong relationships and 
• Establishes and implements classroom behavioural expectations that clearly outline norms and consequences, respecting school wide rules as appropriate. 
• Establishes a classroom environment that engages students in lessons to promote learning.
• Perform tasks and responsibilities related to teaching as needed and requested.
• Keep the administration and Grade Level Coordinators informed about student absence, lateness or discipline problems
• Practise active supervision outside of the classroom, including in the playground, cafeteria, corridors and common areas
• Perform other tasks assigned by management

Requirements

• University Student or Bachelor University Degree in related fields
• Licensed Teacher
• Minimum Teaching Experience:2 years of teaching experience
• Be able to communicate in English.
• Positive and professional outlook
• Computer literacy in Windows, MS Office and Google Drive.
• Respect time, have patience and a high sense of responsibility.
• Possess good communication skills, be friendly and love the students.
