Women Peace Makers (WPM) is Cambodia’s leading organization working on issues of gender and peacebuilding. Founded in 2003, WPM envisions a peaceful and gender-just society where everyone, regardless of identity and ability, can reach their full potential and live free from violence. Today’s WPM is the culmination of almost two decades of action and learning in the field with a longstanding and well-recognized history of intervening in violent situations for women in Cambodia and has developed a strong base of programming to raise awareness, empower women, and advocate for change in the community and conflict settings. WPM is grounded in its approach, and community voices inform its continued learning and strategic directions. Currently, WPM works at the local level with grassroots communities, at the national level with civil society and key stakeholders, and at the regional level with other NGOs, universities, and gender and peacebuilding networks in neighboring countries.

WPM is currently implementing a project entitled “ Girls in Stronger Action! Empowering Girls and Young Women to Learn, Share, Create and Lead for Gender Equality in Cambodia” program in Rattanakiri and Stung Treng provinces. The project goal is for adolescent girls in Stung Treng and Rattanakiri provinces to be empowered as strong agents of change to overcome gender-specific barriers, which aims to (1) empower youth, especially adolescent girls have increased knowledge and sufficiently strong agency to take collective actions for promoting gender equality; (2) to see families/caregivers and communities support and encourage AGYW actively participate in political processes and decision-making beyond their households; (3) to engage girls and boys publicly advocate/influence their issues as citizen journalists and (4) to engage girls-led network organize dialogues to promote gender transformative action. With this project, WPM is currently seeking potential candidates for the following positions:

Duties

  • Management/Operational Responsibilities
  • Ensure the effective and timely implementation of all activities aligned with the strategic objectives, framework, and work plan and within the budget approved.
  • Conducted training for adolescent girls and young women and capacity buildings in target provinces.
  • Monitor and manage the project budget and expenditures.
  • Develop and maintain good relationship with participants, communities, network, and local authorities to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
  • Lead regular team meetings to share information and lessons learned.
  • Support the project production of documentation.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Reporting Responsibilities
  • Regularly monitor project activities, ensuring that quality data and relevant information are collected for reporting.
  • Ensure project reports are produced with quality and submitted on time.
  • Track and analyze projects’ performance, expenditures, and procurement, and report any possible or current blockers or risks.
  • Be responsible for gathering and documenting learning from the project.
  • Tract and analyze the changes in project scope, project schedule, and project cost, and able to suggest improvements to all the above.
  • Facilitation, Documentation, and Communication Responsibilities
  • Contribute to problem-solving and provide consultation on emerging issues that communities and WPM face.
  • Co-lead the development of the training curriculum, session planning, and training manuals for the project.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and formulate creative and effective ways to present the project results to target audiences.
  • Other duties
  • Provide administrative support as needed in order to make the organizational transaction run smoothly.
  • Perform other tasks as required by the Management Committee

Requirements

  • At least three years of experience in project coordination or management
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Experience in delivering training and facilitation at various levels
  • Experience working with youth, especially adolescent girls and young women
  • Be proactive in anticipating priorities without direct supervision
  • Basic budgeting skills and understanding of budget management
  • Good organizational skills, reporting and writing skills, and effective data-gathering skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and self-confidence to ensure effective communication and representation of WPM in diverse audiences and settings
  • Good understanding of basic M&E concepts, results-based and right-based framework
  • Demonstrate a quality as a team player and able to work independently
  • Ability to multitask and willingness to travel
  • Be passionate about gender and women’s issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Khmer
  • Willingness to learn new skills and test new experiences outside the comfort zone
