It began its programs in India in 1981 and is now working in 20 countries across Africa, Europe, South Asia and Southeast Asia to support the development of sustainable education projects with our belief in the universal right to quality education and bases each intervention around this ethos.

Aide et Action is currently looking for a qualified candidate to fulfill the position below:

Position Overview

In order to improve voice and accountability in sub-national democratic development and public services and functions, Aide et Action (AEA) and its partner support and coordinate the implementation of school accountability audits, replicating the framework of the social accountability framework - ISAF. Under FOSTER and CCOSC projects, funded by EU/Oxfam and Educate Above All, AEA aims to support the implementation of the project in 35 target primary schools of Battambang province.

School accountability audits are the process of constructive engagement between citizens and sub-national administrations, specifically the commune council and school in order to improve and strengthen their performance in oversight and managing the schools, where the authorities to manage preschool, primary education, and non-formation education have been transferred to be under the sub-national authority. The project will implement accountability audits to identify the challenges of each school and will then work with commune councils to develop plans to rehabilitate and support schools to address identified challenges.

The Project Officer will report to Education Program Manager and S/he will work closely with the field team and is responsible for coordinating the implementation of school accountability audits in collaboration with relevant education actors and stakeholders of the target schools and communes for successful project implementation.

Requirements

  • Qualification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Development, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or any relevant field, master's preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with others, both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrable experience with Education metrics.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships at all levels of the business.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with MS- Office Package.
  • Experiences
  • At least 4 years of experience in relevant roles in education, social accountability, good governance, project management, project coordination, community development, etc.
  • At least a Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as education, social development, governance, public policy, etc.
  • Technical knowledge in project management, good governance, and social accountability.
  • Strong understanding of public policy, government decision-making processes at the sub-national and local administration level, and advocacy issues in a development context
  • Strong understanding of other civil society networks and coalitions.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, networking, and partnership skills
  • Khmer is native-speaking and Good English in both writing and speaking.
