Job vacancy Logistic Supervisor

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and track shipments in coordination with the factory team
• Identify and select suitable forwarders for the pickup of goods
• Negotiate pricing and terms with forwarders to ensure cost-effective transportation solutions
• Source and evaluate new logistics agencies for customs clearance of goods, both for direct orders and transit shipments
• Negotiate and regularly update unit rates with logistics companies
• Verify the delivery of goods from the factory and ensure they are received at the warehouse
• Cross-check and verify product quantities with the logistic warehouse team and warehouse team
• Maintain up-to-date delivery status information for air conditioning and share it with the project site team or relevant stakeholders
• Liaise with vendor, agent to resolve any logistics-related issues or delays
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, and agent, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration

Requirements

• Construction experience (preferred): Even if not directly in logistics, experience in construction gives you a significant advantage. You'll understand the workflow, materials, equipment, and potential challenges on a construction site.
• Logistics or warehouse experience: Prior experience in logistics, warehousing, or inventory management demonstrates your ability to handle receiving, storing, and distributing materials efficiently.
• Delivery or transportation experience: Understanding delivery schedules, routes, and potential delays with various transportation methods is valuable.

Skills:

• Organization and planning: You'll need to be highly organized to manage deliveries, track inventory, and anticipate project needs.
• Communication skills: Excellent communication with suppliers, drivers, and construction crews is essential for smooth logistics operations.
• Problem-solving skills: unexpected issues arise on construction sites. You'll need to think on your feet and find solutions to keep projects on track.
• Attention to detail: Accuracy is key in logistics. You need to ensure materials are ordered correctly, delivered on time, and stored safely.
• Physical fitness: The role may involve lifting, carrying, and maneuvering materials on-site.
